Calypso Beach Hotel, San Andres (San Andres and Providencia Islands)

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were spacious with a nice view of the ocean and good isolation from external noise, but the absence of carpet made the bathroom flood when showering, and the unfinished building view was not appealing. The service was lacking warmth and an unexpected 'insurance' charge was added upon my arrival. The location, right in front of the sea and close to the airport, was a major plus, but the plant pots turned upside down outside were odd. The dining options were simple but varied daily, offering local food. The facilities were decent though could be improved.

Although the hotel is right by the beach, the rooms felt old and overlooked a building site, detracting from the beautiful view. The service was mixed, with some staff being unfriendly and unhelpful, while others were nice. The location was the highlight, being close to the airport and offering a direct ocean view, but might not suit every taste. The dining options were limited, though the local food varied daily. Despite its drawbacks, the pool area provided a pleasant retreat.
